What is the Bible?
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible is made up of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. It is God’s perfect message declaring who he is, how he saves, and what he commands. Its central focus is Jesus Christ.
God used people to write the Bible, but every word came ultimately from him. Even though the writers were not perfect, God wrote a perfect book in every way. When we read or hear the bible, we are hearing from God himself.
The Bible is God’s final and most important message. It shows us what is true, reveals his glory, defines right and wrong, and helps us grow in our faith. God’s Word tells us everything we need to know to follow Him. It will never lead us astray and is our highest authority.
