A Truth to Believe

What does it mean that the Bible is Objective truth?

The God who made the universe is a God who speaks. The Bible is not just the words of people—it is God’s Word. It is truth because it is the very word of God. Because the Bible comes from God, it never changes and is always true.

God’s truth does not depend on people, opinions, cultures, or time periods. It is true no matter what anyone thinks, feels, or believes. The Bible is true for all people, in all places, at all times. It is to be our highest authority and our standard in all things.

Just as a message today means what its author intends, God’s Word still means what he meant for it to mean when it was written. The truths of the Bible are fixed truths found within the intended meaning of the biblical authors, both human and divine.

Truth comes from God in his Word. Truth is not something we create or find within ourselves. When we believe and live according to the Bible, we are building our lives on what is absolute and unchanging.

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever (Psalm 119:160)

Something about Living

We could make quite significant contributions if we did two things:  

1.    Define a particular goal that has as its aim the good of others and glorifying God.

2.    Remain focused and disciplined to take small steps toward this end each day.

Focused actions turn into intentional days that make up a well-lived life.
