A Truth to Believe

 What is the Bible About?

The Bible is about God. It teaches us what to believe about him and what he requires of us.

In the Bible God shows his glory, his ways, what he has done, what he commands, his plans, his saving works, and his promises.

The hero of the Bible from beginning to end is Jesus Christ. The Old Testament is God’s message before Jesus was born. In it he makes gospel promises about his Savior who will come. The New Testament is God’s message after Jesus is born. In it he fulfills those promises in Jesus who has arrived.

Ultimately, the Bible leads us to Jesus and life in him. Once we know him and believe in him, it teaches us how to live in a way that reflects his worth and character.

But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out. (Acts 3:18–19)

Something about Living

Want more of Jesus? Here are three ways to practically get more of Jesus in your day.

(1) Pray between activities/responsibilities.

(2) Have a Scripture close by throughout the day that you memorize.

(3) Curate your media intake so that it pushes you to God rather than pulls you from him.

An Idea

Most likely your great grandkids will not remember your name. What kind of legacy are you leaving them that will outlive your memory?

A Quote

Do you think hope and life are in yourself. Left to our own resources all we lean ourselves into is sorrow.

Augustine remind us, "Without you, what am I to myself but a guide to my own self-destruction."

Life and joy are found outside of you and in Jesus Christ.
