A Truth to Believe

What is the Bible?

The Bible is the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. It is God’s perfect message declaring who he is, how he saves, and what he commands. Its central focus is Jesus Christ.

God used people to write the Bible, but every word came ultimately from him. Even though the writers were not perfect, God wrote a perfect book in every way. When we read or hear the bible, we are hearing from God himself.

The Bible is God’s final and most important message. It shows us what is true, reveals his glory, defines right and wrong, and helps us grow in our faith. God’s Word tells us everything we need to know to follow Him. It will never lead us astray and is our highest authority.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Something about Caregiving

If you want to be a caregiver who thrives over the long-haul then you must be a master quitter.

Being an ongoing caregiver means you will have to evaluate and eliminate on an ongoing basis. You must master the art of quitting.

To thrive as a caregiver, you need to be able to identify when something is no longer worth your time, is not serving a primary need or function, or is distracting you from a more important purpose.

It's good to be persistent and not give up on something because it's hard. But Quitting because something no longer serves your life isn't laziness it's wise living.

An Idea

God grows us through suffer.

Romans 5:3-4 tells us "We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character."

Suffering young, although it is hard, it is a blessing. Don't waste it! Trust God through it.

A Quote

Does your soul feel unsatisfied and thirsty?

Augustine reminds us,"You have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you."

Augustine - Confessions (Book 1)

A Booklist

Some of the books I have been most helped by are works by the 17th Century Puritans.

These pastors and theologians wrote a host of devotional style works often during suffering and persecution.

Here are our favorites!
