A Truth to Believe
What is the Trinity?
The Bible teaches that there is only one God, eternally existing as three distinct yet equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God and shares the same essence, glory, and power. The word "Trinity" is a way to describe God's nature as being three in one.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share one divine essence and perfectly work to govern all things and bring about salvation. The Godhead is not three roles played by one person (this is called modalism). Nor are they three Gods (this is called tritheism). Rather, He is one God in three persons. Each person is truly God and possesses all of God's qualities. Furthermore, they indwell one another in joyful fellowship, sharing one will and purpose.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united yet differentiated by how they relate to one another. The Father is unbegotten and the source in the order of relations. Jesus Christ, the Son, is eternally begotten of the Father. The Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son. These differences do not mean there is inequality within the Godhead but reveal how each person is distinct.
In His work outside Himself, God always acts inseparably yet according to his personal distinctions––from the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit. The Father plans and sends. The Son accomplishes redemption through His incarnation, obedience, death, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit applies Christ’s work by regenerating, sanctifying, and preserving believers. God is and always will be one God and three person.
... According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you. 1 Peter 1:2
Something about Living
As followers of Christ, we live by a different set of values than the world. In our modern American culture—shaped by online life, advancing AI, political division, public protests, celebrated evil, and widespread abuses of power—my prayers have increasingly become focused on being faithful where it counts the most.
I was reminded of some of the most precious blessings we can experience in this life with some cards that our ten and nine year-old wrote us.
Many of the greatest and most precious blessings and joys that God will ever give to us are right in front of us. May God give us eyes to see them and hearts that overflow in thankfulness, further faith in him, and wisdom to steward them well.
A Quote
"Slothfullness in the service to God is as damning a sin as open rebellion against him; for the slothful and the wicked servants shall share in the same condemnation, (Matt 25:30). If we are not determined therefore to part with our ease, sloth, self-indulgence, and our unprofitable method of spending our time, and to mortify and crucify our lusts, we must be contented to spend our days without any real peace, and in the end to lie down in sorrow"

A Resource
The world is filled with resources. Yet, many of them are not worth our time. That is one reason I really appreciate resources that help point towards biblically-faithful resources.
Andy Naselli is a professor, pastor, and good friend. He compiled an extremely helpful document that lists hundreds of resources on a variety of theological topics. It is a resource I return to again and again and it just might be a blessing to you as well.
