A Truth to Believe
Is there Really Only One True God?
There is one, and only one, living and true God. This God eternally exists as three distinct persons who are coequal and coeternal: God the Father, God the Son—Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. Though God exists as three persons, equal in power and glory, he is one God, Yahweh, the Creator and Causer of all things.
This God alone is worthy of worship, love, and service, for he alone is eternal, infinite, living, and true. God can be truly known, and salvation can be received, only through Jesus Christ, who is the sole mediator between God and man. This saving knowledge comes by the work and power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, no one truly worships God unless they worship Jesus Christ. Any claim to worship God that does not embrace, trust, obey, and submit to Jesus as he is revealed in Scripture is false.
The one true God is distinct from all so-called gods of other religions. God himself declares, “I am Yahweh, and there is no other; besides me there is no God” (Isa. 45:5). There is no shared god to whom all religions lead, nor one god who merely appears in different forms across religions. Any god other than the God of the Bible is a false god. Such false gods are not empty ideas, but real supernatural, demonic enemies who oppose and hate the one true God (1 Cor. 10:19–20).
Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god." (Isaiah 44:6).
Something about Caregiving
God ordains the load, but we determine the posture of our heart to carry it.
A Quote
In 1681, John Bunyan wrote a book entitled Come and Welcome to Jesus Christ. In it he mines the depths of one verse: John 6:37, “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”
In this passage the words “come to me” are the Apostle John’s way of describing the act of salvation. Bunyan explains, “[John] means [believers] have a discovery of the glory of the grace that is in him; and the beauty and the glory of that is of such virtue, that it constraints and forces with a blessed violence, the hearts of those that are given to him. … They see glory in his person, glory in his undertakings, glory in the merit of his blood, and glory in the perfection of his righteousness; yeah, heart-affecting, heart sweetening, and heart-changing glory!”
Truly, God saves his people through revealing the glory of Christ to the eyes of our heart (2 Cor 4:6).

We greatly enjoy reading aloud and listening to book series as a family. Here are some of our favorite series that we have enjoyed over the years.
